Besties Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock were all smiles as they posed together at the Netflix Golden Globes afterparty in LA over the weekend. Jennifer rocked her signature blonde locks down while Sandra stunned in a chic mustard gown with ruffled accents. Although they haven’t acted together, the actresses have been close pals for years. Another star who stood out was Glenn, who looked classy in a navy blue dress with pleats.
VIP guests: At the exclusive party, Glenn Close, another renowned actress, made an appearance in a sophisticated navy blue dress with long sleeves and elegant pleated accents.
The recent Golden Globes took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, featuring star-studded attendance. Ricky Gervais kicked off the event with his usual controversial humor, calling out ‘woke’ Hollywood for its hypocrisy and advising winners to accept their awards and leave. In a daring moment, Gervais mentioned Jeffrey Epstein during his monologue, drawing a shocked reaction from the audience. He even humorously compared his show Afterlife to the lengthy award ceremony, quipping that the show about a man contemplating suicide after losing his wife to cancer was more entertaining. Gervais teased the audience about Season two of Afterlife, making a bold joke about Epstein’s death and urging the audience to quiet down, despite knowing Epstein may have been acquainted with some in the crowd.
Sandra, Jennifer, and Glenn also smiled for a photo with Scott Stuber, who leads the original films department at Netflix.
Gervais then told the star-studded audience to refrain from turning their acceptance speeches into political statements. He humorously pointed out that despite claiming to be “woke,” many of them work for large corporations like Apple, Amazon, and Disney. He joked that if ISIS started a streaming service, they would probably still call their agents for a job. Gervais also criticized Apple, accusing them of using ‘sweatshops’ to manufacture their products. He advised the celebrities to simply accept their awards, thank their agents and deities, and then leave without using the platform for political purposes. Gervais cheekily suggested that many of the celebrities had spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg, so they shouldn’t lecture the public about real-world issues.
Fashion: Sandra looked stunning at the party in a mustard gown adorned with ruffles and a unique hemline.
Gervais’ joke was well-received with laughter, though it may have irked Apple’s Tim Cook who was in the audience that Sunday evening.
This marked Gervais’ fifth time hosting the gala, having previously done so in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016.
