After winning the British Style Award at the British Fashion Awards in London, Emma Watson has headed to Argentina for her new movie. Recently, the actress was seen on the streets of Buenos Aires filming scenes for Colonia Dignidad. She looked stunning in a yellow minidress and a matching hat. During breaks, she took off her hat and spent time chatting and laughing with friends, even wrapping her arm around one of them as they walked.
Emma Watson was seen back in action on the set of her latest film, Colonia Dignidad, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, over the weekend. The movie, also featuring Daniel Brühl and Michael Nyqvist, had already filmed scenes in Luxembourg and Germany before heading to South America for production. Based on real events during the Chilean military coup of 1973, the film follows Lena (played by Watson) as she searches for her abducted husband, Daniel (Brühl), in a mysterious cult hideout known as Colonia Dignidad.
Taking a break: The celebrity was spotted strolling and catching up with friends during the filming gaps.
Sunshine in human form: The stunning woman, hailing from Paris, was absolutely glowing in a vibrant yellow vintage-style dress.
Historical Background: The film draws its inspiration from real-life occurrences that unfolded during the political upheaval in Chile in 1973.
In a significant role, Emma will play Lena, a German woman who follows her husband to a mysterious cult hideout known as Colonia Dignidad after he is taken by the secret police of General Augusto Pinochet. Operating as a charitable organization led by a preacher (Nyqvist), the members of this group subjected prisoners to torture on behalf of the former Chilean dictator.
Determined to locate her partner, Lena decides to infiltrate the cult and expose the dark secrets lurking within Colonia. Despite its outward appearance of a self-sustaining community with amenities like schools, hospitals, airstrips, restaurants, and a power plant, reports from a 1977 Amnesty International dossier reveal that Colonia also served as a horrifying torture facility for political detainees in Chile.
Moving on to the next location: The film’s scenes had already been filmed in both Luxembourg and Germany.
In great companionship: The movie, which started filming in September, also features Daniel Brühl and Michael Nyqvist in leading roles.
Emma recently traveled to London where she was honored with a British Style Award at the prestigious British Fashion Awards. According to reports, there are allegations of torture experiments being conducted at Colonia Dignidad, located near Parral in Linares Province, about 400 kilometers south of Santiago. In 2005, the BBC reported that former political prisoners testified about being tortured with electric shocks in underground stone tunnels at the colony, accompanied by music from Wagner and Mozart. Michael Nyqvist’s character is believed to be inspired by Paul Schäfer, the founder and ex-leader of the German community residing in Colonia Dignidad. Schäfer, a supporter of the Nazi regime and a former medic, fled Germany in 1961 after facing allegations of sexually abusing two boys at another commune disguised as a charity organization.
Key responsibilities: The dark-haired stunner was honored with the role of UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July.
Busy: The actors and production team huddled around a vintage car while filming was in progress.
Outstanding performance: The fashionable actress stole the spotlight in her vibrant yellow gown while filming her scenes.
